Cool Hunting featured a collaboration between Herman Miller and students from the Cranbrook Academy of Art. The aim was, with the increase in use of more mobile technologies and work spaces increasingly blurring the lines between living space and office, to find furnishing solutions.
The piece above is called the Tri-fold bench and was designed by Douglas Leckie. Three layered upholstered panels can be configured to fit a variety of social needs and ‘restful postures’. Made from lovely ash hardwood, this is a versatile bench that maintains a sense of style.
The chair below is the ‘Private Rocker’, designed by Kyle Fleet. Affording both visual and acoustic privacy (with the added fun of being on a rocking chair – both comfy and endlessly entertaining), this is a great alternative to the traditional cubicle.
The ‘Office Lounge’ below by Damee Hong is a two-position chair which allows for an easy transition between concentrating and resting.
